Water & wastewater inspection | CM | Design | GPS mapping

Not all inspectors are created equal. Our inspectors know WATER and PIPELINE.

H2O Urban Solutions (H2Ou) is a woman-owned, WBE-certified firm focused exclusively on water and wastewater infrastructure. Our own field staff provide construction inspection, construction management, design and GPS mapping for investor-owned water utilities, public water districts and the prime contractors who build for them.

Solutions That Flow

  1. Plans Plans and profiles reviewed before the first cut.
  2. Trench Inspectors on foot with the crew who know what a good main looks like going in.
  3. Record A tablet DFR every working day before leaving the site, with GPS mapping of valves, fittings and services.
Why H2Ou inspectors

Water Is Our Specialty.

Potable water pipelines and facilities are our specialty. The work is judged on disinfection and bac-t sampling, pressure testing, AWWA standards and DDW requirements, and that is the work our inspectors know.

  • Water pipelines first

    Mains, services and fire services

Most of our projects are water main replacements, facility upgrades and development work, from $10M+ capital projects down to infill, main extensions and fire services.

  • Water facilities

    Tanks, wells, pump stations, treatment

We also inspect the facilities on the system: storage tanks, glass-fused bolted steel tanks, wells, pump stations and treatment plants.

  • Potable water standards

    Built around drinking water

Disinfection and bac-t sampling, pressure testing, AWWA standards and DDW requirements are the standards we inspect to.

  • Trench + operations

    Field and operator experience

Most of our inspectors worked as pipe layers, crew foremen and equipment operators before they became inspectors, and some hold water treatment or distribution operator licenses.

  • DFRs + GPS mapping

    Every day, on the record

A tablet Daily Field Report (DFR) filed at the trench every working day before leaving the site, plus survey-grade GPS mapping of new valves, fittings and services as they are built.

  • Oversight | Modular teams

    Scott Myers and Mark Duchesne

Scott Myers (PE, T4, D3, CSLB A and C-36) and Mark Duchesne oversee every region. We work in modular regional teams, each led by a supervising inspector, so we can stand up a team where you need one.

Core services

Water Specialists, Not Generalists.

We work only on water and wastewater infrastructure, and we self-perform with our own field staff.

Core service 01

Construction Inspection

Full-time, part-time or as-needed inspection of mains, services, meters, hydrants, valves, tie-ins, wells, pump stations, tanks and treatment facilities.

  • Tablets at the trench. Inspectors stay on foot with the crew and complete tablet forms at the work area, watching pipe, bedding, restraint and tie-ins go in.
  • Same-day DFRs. A Daily Field Report every working day, submitted before the inspector leaves the site: photos, installed quantities, issues and the 5-day look-ahead.
  • Daily accountability. Inspectors check in with our CM team multiple times a day, and every DFR is reviewed before it reaches you.
Core service 02

Construction Management

Construction Manager or Resident Engineer, as needed:

  • Submittals, RFIs, change orders, pay requests, claims support and closeout
  • Constructability reviews
  • Startup and commissioning with certified operators if needed
Core service 03

Design & Engineering

Water main and facility design by a licensed PE with an inspector’s eye: constructable plans, future tie-ins, valve isolation and shutdown planning, blowoffs, air valves and service reconnections. Licensed operator support, too.

Core service 04

GPS Mapping & As-Builts

Survey-grade GPS of new valves, fittings and services as they are built, running red-line as-builts and GPS-stamped photos.

Beyond California. Scott and Trina Myers are based in California and Nevada, so we cover Nevada when a client needs it. Mark Duchesne is based in Arizona. Supervising inspectors can relocate to stand up a team in Texas, Missouri, Arkansas, Illinois and beyond, with inspectors hired locally who come from the trench.

Ready to scale

A Team Where You Need One. Built to Scale.

Our team is built from repeatable regional units. Each unit is led by a Supervising Construction Inspector who already knows our system, with Senior and Construction Inspectors hired locally around that lead.

Every unit uses the same DFR, GPS and check-in standards, and Mark Duchesne and Scott Myers oversee all of them. Because each unit is modular, we can stand up a dedicated inspection team wherever a utility partner or prime contractor needs one.
